I have used 30A Afro ESC that were intended for another project that stalled.
TBS DISCOVERY PRO X8R INSTAL SOFTWARE
These have the SimonK software that is optimised for multi-rotors, I' ve not used Afros before and read good things about them generally. Motors are EMAX 2213 935KV and will be running 10x4.7 carbon fibre propellers.

One thing about these EMAX motors is that they have a keyed edge on the spindle for DJI props. This has made fitting regular props a bit of a chore. They come with a pair of CW/CCW 10x4.5 ABS props - I' ll keep them in my flight box as spares. The FPV camera will be a new Sony CCD 800tvl that I picked up from eBay - it is a CMOS chip and the circuit board is "full size", that is it cannot be cut down like the earlier models. This makes it a tight fit in the Disco, but it does go in with a bit of persistence ::)Įqually half of my time today has been setting up the electronics harness consisting of APM 2.5, DJI power module, GPS, remote Mag, 433MHz telemetry and minimOSD kit. The APM 2.5' s telemetry port is shared by the 433MHz radio and minimOSD, and so some wiring has to be made up. I had a telemetry port breakout board from another project that I conscripted into this build. It makes for trivial wiring, although does add a gram or two of weight. The rest of the weekend is heavily booked out but I will attempt to bring hardware and electronics together before Sunday is out. With a bit of luck I might just be able to maiden the quad for a short flight to measure the vibrations using the IMU log capability of the APM 2.5. Next up will be an auto-tune and then I' ll start to fit the rest of the FPV kit. This is the telemetry port breakout board: They say a picture says a thousand words, so I' ll shut up now.
